Just dorve my new ('95) Gwagen today. The idle rises and falls, surges. I know it is probably some type of idle control valve. Where is the valve located, how difficult is it to replace and what is the approximate part cost? Thanks, Brent

The later cars don't usr a idle valve, but a throttle actuator. There is a motor hooked to the throttle butterfly. Cleaning the butterfly might help. Reading computer codes might provide more clues!

Also, I have seen the mass air meter cause this in most cases. As Doc said, read the codes and go from there. If there is more than one, I would start with the one that is fuel management related.
