Question Corner light falling out!

I have a '95 E320 and the passenger side corner light flew out at speed yesterday! I went back and found it, but is this common and is there a better way to fasten it in?

When pressing this back in, you should hear a snap when the latch is secure. It's held in by the latch on the light securing to the body. Perhaps it wasn't fully secured the last time it was removed.

Check to make sure that the two little tabs go into the slots on the headlight housing, and that the little spring in the locking tab is still there -- DEPO have REALLY chintzy springs, you have to watch if they are Euros. Bosch and Hella are pretty good, but it's still likely the plastic is bad and the locking tab broke off... All the plastic up there gets brittle.

I have a couple spares from the 88 model if they fit and you need one (something about always doing damage to the left front -- Mom hit the trash man when he ran out from behind the trash truck, and I hit a deer on that side!).

Thanks for the advice. I have an original Bosch piece, albeit with some chips in it from hitting the road. The tabs are there and the "spring" is in there as well. My Indy told me to wire tie it to something close by. I think I will try that now.
