1990 300CE Problems on my car...HELP!!!
I just bought a 1990 300CE, it is a nice car and I love it. I want to keep it forever but I don't know what to do with the problems I found so far. My main concern is...I see oil coming out of the exhaust and the exhaust smells like pure carbon monoxide. I don't see any indicator light on the dashboard about the oxygen sensor. The other thing that I want to fix are the moldings on both doors and on the edges of the front and rear bumpers. I seems like whatever is holding them needs to be replaced. Where can I get these things and will it be hard to do it myself? I really don't want to take it to the dealer bec they charge you an arm and a leg to fix it. Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated.

ok - #1, carbon monoxide doesn't have any smell (which is part of the reason why it is so dangerous). So what you are smelling is something else. I have no clue what it is, but maybe others can help.
As for the door moldings, the dealer sells these for ~$.10 a piece. They can look up part numbers and they should have them in stock. Good luck! Peter |
Sounds like your burning oil, probably the valve stem seals. This would get better responses in the tech help forum though.
