Try using some white lithium grease on the throttle linkage. Most auto parts stores have it.

Throttle body gums up and gets sticky.......you work it while spraying it in on the inside with throttle body cleaner.

Real common problem with gassers.....Have to do it on my honda and Saturn about every 10-15K miles.

panther1, MB recommends transmission fluid for lubricating the throttle linkage. This is one of the items that rarely gets done even at a dealer as part of the 'A' and 'B' Services. My independent tech told me that he has seen numerous dealer-serviced cars that have never had the throttle linkage lubricated.

I recommend you check out the latest issue of "The Star" which has a good article on cleaning linkages. According to Stu Ritter, the factory recommends cleaning off all the old grease and then lubing with ATF to avoid the sticking which occurs as the old grease breaks down.

For what it's worth...

"The Star" is the bi-monthly publication of the Mercedes Benz Club of America. It is a very good resource and available to club members. You should consider joining. Another excellent resource the "Mercedes Classic" published quarterly by the Mercedes Classic Center and available from them directly off their website.
