significance of transient ABS light on?

I have an 87 300E with 332K miles. Today the ABS light came on while I was driving and stayed on for perhaps 15 minutes until I stopped. I drove an hour or so later for 30 min without problems.
What should I watch for/check?
Thanks

I've dug thru the archives on this issue before and came up primarily with 3 things. There could be more I suppose.

a. faulty OVP
b. faulty ABS wheel sensor(s) or maybe rear sensor in the differential.
c. faulty alternator - maybe not as likely, but one member here indicated his tech attributed it to a bad alt. diode that caused a wheel sensor to be or appear to be bad.

Are the brakes kicking back when coming to a stop? If so, you could have real ABS issues and that would rule out the OVP.

Lots of discussion to be found using the SEARCH facility.

What is an OVP?
I reviewed a few posts on ABS but could not understand why charging or wheel sensors would be sporadic. I will check my charging system at the local parts store. Brakes work fine in typical stops.
Thanks.

The ABS light will come on when the charging voltage drops below 10volts.
The OVP is the overvoltage protection relay - a notorious culprit for problems. It is located behind the battery behind a removable plastic cover. It is usually a silver relay with a red top and two 10amp. fuses under a clear cover. Check to see that the fuses are ok and if you can remove the relay, shake it to see if there is anything loose inside.
