$200 to replace windshield washer fliud bottle?
My dad's 2000 S430 taken to dealer for service. Several problems were found, which are:
Leakage on washer fluid bottle - $200 to replace bottle BAS light - $275 to replace wires Front driver-side window - $450 to replace motor Do those prices seem reasonable? or does it seem expensive? For me, it seems too expensive (Although I was kinda expecting somewhat expensive since MB parts are expensive than other auto parts). Please reply with comments. Btw, my dad car was taken to Caliber Motors @ Anaheim Hills. |
for windsheile reservoir...
I am attacking the same problem today.
I found out that they leak from whre the pumps are attacked. Some sealant silicone and after 30 minutes it should be fine. I will let you know if it worked. ACM |
Prices are way high as far as I am concerned. He needs to find a good independent if the warrenty period is up. The washer bottle thing is more than likely a good diy'er type of job as long as you have the part$? Do a search on Enrique or something like that. I comes highly recommended and is in Calif - don't remember where though.

The prices are ridiculous, and only going to get worse. May be time to unload the car.

That's way too much for anybody to charge for that type of repair. If you or the owner can do some of these repairs, I wouldn't get rid of the car. On the other hand, I'm not sure they made a decent M-B after the 123, 124 series. (Flame-proof suit on.)

I tell you, the prices may actually be the going rate.
Just be sure with the BAS light that you GET OLD WIRES BACK and the repair is successful. Yes it is expensive, but you have a dealer working on an eighty-thousand dollar car. |
