Hello all,
This afternoon driving home, I noticed for the first time a pushbutton switch on the console between the left front window switch and the left rear window switch. It's a push on, push off type of switch. I don't have an owners manual, and am wondering what it's for? Can anyone out there provide an answer? Thanks! Richard Wooldridge |
What model car do you have? Is there a picture on the switch? The most common "unknown" switch to my knowledge is the Country Horn switch. This switch changes your horn to normal to an airhorn. Try honking your horn and then changing the position of the switch and honking again. If the tone changes, it is your horn switch

When you say push button, do you mean you can push it in adn out, or does it slide toward the back and then push back up. On my 420SEL the button between the rear window switches is for the rear child locks. When you push it the windows and locks can not be operated from the backseat.

The push button you refer to is the rear window lockout. It shuts off the window switches in the rear doors, keeping the little ones from rolling down the windows.

Mike's right. This is a lockout. I have the same thing in my 450SEL.
