Mercedes Model 124 Overload Relay (300TE)
In the last 9 months, I have had to replace the OVP on my 300TE twice.
Both of these were manufactured by "KAE" ............. Is there another brand I can try .... I hate to throw money away on something that is not only expensive, but does not last. Thanks - William |
KAE is the one manufactured in Germany! ($63.39), the other is made by Stribel (do not know what country-$62.10). My origional one that is going bad in my W124 is part number 210 540 37 45 and is made in Austria (Siemens) and is the one fuse- 7 pin. All new ovps are now the 9 pin 2 fuse deals and are universal according to the MB dealer.

Consider what M.B.DOC had to say in this thread.

I bought one of those KAE OVP's and it lasted less about a month. It filled with water and corroded terribly. Luckily I had saved the original as I was not sure if it was my original problem. I put the original (1 fuse) back on and it worked fine. So thats another $65 shot to H*((!.

Looks like the Fastlane OVP is a KAE part. Anybody know the best source for an OEM unit (i.e. somewhere cheaper than the dealer)?
