driveshaft

Hi,
I am trying to replace the rubber connecting the driveshaft and the gearbox of my 1982 240d, but can not get the driveshaft out of the gearbox.
What to do?
Thanks in advance people.

Next time you might want to do a search. This one has been discussed many times.

There is a big nut on the front section of the driveshaft. Loosen that big nut and then the driveshaft will collapse enough to get it loose.

When putting in the new flex disk, pay close attention to how it goes in. If it does not lock into place it will fail quickly.

Good luck,

Larry,

One thing to consider, if a member of this forum is using a dial-up modem, a search can be long and maybe even unsuccessful.
