My 1991 350SDL's ASD (anti slip differential)light just came on and stayed on just recently ... car had been parked in garage for about two weeks without being started.
Any ideas about common failure modes ... I know I can take it to dealer and they will run tester on it ... question I have is what things normally happen to this system? It does not appear to be very complicated ... Thanks to everyone. George Stephenson george.stephenson@trw.com |

Could be as simple as power supply to the ECU. But as you said the real way to diagnose is to scan computer for codes.

The only two that I have ever had to work on were both the same problem.
The accumulator had failed in both systems. The part was 100 dollars or so and was replaced with relative ease. Afterwards you have to clear the codes.
