Now that's strange.

Put plugs and wires in my 95 TE about 3 weeks ago. Up until that time the check engine light had been coming on anywhere from every 3 to 7 days. Code was always the same,,, EGR, code 5. Since the plugs and wires were installed, the CE light hasn't come on. We'll see if it lasts.

Been a couple of months and the CE light STILL hasn't come on,,,,, now that's comforting.

Still no CE light. Did the plugs do something to allow the EGR valve to work better ?

While you were replacing the spark plugs did you happen to replace any vacuum lines that you may have noticed were broken. More specifically, the plastic vacuum tubing that runs to the rear of the engine beneath the spark plug access cover?

Nope. Nothing but plugs and wires.
