Steve, thank you very much for the instructions and the heads up. Do know whether or not the partsshop sells the spring sets, and about how much?

Sorry, I don't know if they can provide those items but I would imagine they can. We usually buy them from MB though on older models. I would replace the seat frame/spring and the lower pad at least. If the layback is bad I would do it too. It will probably only need the pad.

Steve, that's ok, I'll wait until after the holidays to write them for price and availability. When you say, you get them from MB, do you mean from a dealer or directly from their parts wholesale division? On a side note. I really appreciate your taking the time to answer questions about my old W116. To get real answers from someone with your backround is priceless, not to sound like a Visa commercial.
Arthur, thank you for the link to interior samples. So if I see it correctly, MB did have non-textured vinyl, which is what I have. Also this sample link confirms that I have the Bamboo color. Thank you again.
