cooling fan electric or not
 

Hi folks,
I have a C 180 Classic 1997.
My cooling fan runs all the time, can any tell me if this fan is electric or what?

The USA version C230 uses an electric cooling fan controlled by a computer fan module that receives info from the engine module on how fast & when to run!

Mine is a British version. The problem is I am not sure about the fan. The fan is driven through the engine. I am booked into Garage for investigation but not a Mercedes garage. There is also a noise coming from front?under engine block. don't know if it is connected.
