Using chem b12 (Berryman) to clean engine?

Has anyone use this product to run in the engine to clean the engine prior to oil channge? I have a 98 ml320 that has oil sludging. Was thinking of running the engine for 5 minute with this product prior to the oil change.

Read the directions on the can. The mfg. cautions against using it if the engine has not had recommended oil/filter changes. If the engine is really gunked up badly, using this or any similar product can do more harm than good.

That's a great way to ruin gaskets and hard to reach seals. I wouldn't do anything of the sort. Detergent motor oil and regular oil changes are all you need (in other words, don't do anything special).

Just out of curiosity, were you advised that there is "sludging"?

You aren't using dino oil in conjunction with the FSS intervals are you?

I would just do more frequent oil changes - say every 1,500 to 2,000 miles and drive the hell out of it between. Yes, I know synthetic is expensive but not as expensive as an engine rebuild or gasket replacement.
