Air Filter Box Small Hole
Hello all,
I noticed, when changing the air filter, one small hole quite in the middle of the air filter box (1989 MB 300 CE). And there is a small screw wich is accessible through this hole. What is this screw used for ? Thank for your answers. Sorry EN is not my mother language. |
It's for setting the idle air mixture.
What kind of suspension do you have on your car? |
Hi,
Front one are (I think standard) but lowered. I think you're more interested on the rear one, which are air controled "auto level". May this be the answer you loking for ? Regards |
I was wondering what springs.

Ok, I'll have to look on them.
What kind of information do you exactly want to know and where may I find it out ? And that as nothing to do with my first question, right ? I saw that you're located in Canada, maybe can we switch to French (I live in Switzerland - French) Regards, |

It's actually used to adjust the "base mixture" from which the lambda system corrects to stoichiometric during normal closed loop operation, which is all engine operating conditions above about 60C coolant temperature except WOT.
On lambda equipped engines it is "sealed" and is not supposed to be adjusted, however, as cars age it may require some adjustment, but it should ONLY be adjusted based on duty cycle readings as outlined on the landiss web page. If the average duty cycle is within about ten percent at idle and 2500, then no adjustment is necessary, and if the average duty cycle difference at these two engine speeds is over ten percent, it should only be adjusted after verification that the lambda system is operating properly, which includes O2 sensor operation.
