123 (300 CD) Mirror ????
Can anyone tell me how to remove the rear view mirror from the interior of my 78 300 CD? I'm embarrassed. I can change out the engine or tranny but the mirror is kicking my butt! My MB repair manual doesn't give a clue. The "base" of the assembly is rubber coated and I can't find any attachment point or set screw, etc. Mine is broken and I am wanting to remove one from a parts car without damaging it but removing it remains a mystry.

Grab the mirror base and twist it downward. Lower either the left or right side. The mirror is held in by 2 ball bearing bullets that are spring loaded. so just grab it and rotate. It will come out.
