Big C280 Problem!!!
Big C280 Problem!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, I did a search on this and did not see the exact symptoms, but something similar. 97 C280 Sport. I went back to my office yesterday to do some more work, when I went outside to leave, I started the car and immediatley the ABS light and CEL came on. I proceeded to put it in Reverse and got a very hard jolt as it "kicked" in. Then, I put it in drive and got a very hard kick. I shut off the car, put it in W mode and it shifted into 2 okay, but went in to limp home mode. So, since I have to drive 55 miles. I called a flatbed and had it trailered home. Any ideas what this might be? I already found that it might be the ABS Speed Sensor, but what about the extremely hard shift into gear? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. It seems like everything is going wrong at once on this thing, it has 98k miles, but come on! :( :furious2: |
The trans has gone into limp home. It could posibly be due to the speed sensor implausibility. Read the fault codes.

I have not had the chance to put it on a scanner yet, but I will do it pretty soon... I just wondered if the sensor going bad would cause the tranny to go into limp mode. Plus, I wanted to get some opinions on here, from people might know.

If the speed sensor in the diff dies then the gearbox has no reference speed for the output shaft so it goes into emergency running mode as well as putting the abs light on.
I saw this on a W202 C200 only 3 weeks ago. |
