** Advice for NEWBIES !! ******
Not to hijack the forums but I would like new members to see this clip in forum etiquette. The "Tech Help" forum is already flooded with questions that have probably been answered and this redundancy of questions just takes up disk space. Valid questions get pushed to the next page and nobody gets an answer.

Disk space
Your beautiful SL picture takes up "valuable" disk space as well :D

Kewl
I like that!
:bowrofl: |
Also, when posting for technical help, include the year and model of the car you are seeking information for.

Just a thought:
I can't remember if this forum makes new users activate their account by opening a link in an email, but if it does, maybe the email sent should include something along the lines of please do a quick search before making a new post in bold letters at the top. It seems a lot of new people find these forums and immediately try to make a new thread, then find out they have to register and immediately activate it and probably dont even think of searching first....(atleast thats how it was with me, but ive learned now :D ) |
The joy of using advanced search
The chaff from quick search returns lots of results. At this point laziness and confusion sets in and the "New Thread" button becomes attractive.
Advanced search is needed to find relevant articles. The sort by field should be set to relevance, and the number of replies should be at least 2. Makes a big difference to select the forum (tech help for most of mine). |
