A/C problem (at startup)? W124 '95
Hmm, here is what is going on last month or so. You start the car up, turn a/c on to cool and no cold air, you start driving and its like the compressor kicks in and you get instant cold air. Yesterday for example, I started up, was in traffic to get out of a parking lot for 10 minutes or so, and it felt like just the fan was running.... Once we got under way (not even at 30 mph 1/2 block) the thing started cooling like always does....
I didn't go through this , last year during the summer  . Any ideas? I am wondering if it is just the hot weather...its really hot... |
The CCU uses a number of different inputs when making the decision to turn on the compressor. One of these is outside temperature. Most likely the warmer weather is causing it to come on soon. It should have a short delay after engine start regardless of temperature. This is to ensure that the engine has oil pressure before loading the engine with the compressor.
I expect that the system is operating as it should. Good luck, |
