500E Self leveling Question
Hi all, silly question regarding the level control rod : Is it inserted on the level controller arm from the side of the level controller or the differential. The latter seems to allow for a more vertically aligned rod, but the head of the connector seems to close to the rubber boot on the rear wheel half-shaft. On the other hand, inserting from the controller side makes the rod take an almost oblique alignment. This in turn appears to put a strain on the rubber booted ball-joint associated with the connector screw, which is inserted into the arm.
Any help appreciated. Thanks |
thanks.
Are you suggesting that each actuator (I assume you are referencing the components which are commonly called nitrogen spheres) has a different part number or that there is at least a right side and left side? If so, why would putting them on backwards affect performance? They both have the same function in terms of oil in and out. |
