The glovebox on my '85 190e will not open. The key goes in the lock just fine and turns but when I try to open it it feels like it is still locked. When I pull on the handle, the door comes down a little and you can see the light inside the glovebox shining. Unfortunately, this is as far as it will open. I think that this is because the metal piece at the top (the loop) where the lock connects is loose. Is there any way that I can get this open?
Also, is there anyway that I can remove the lock on the glovebox. For me the lock is more annoying than helpful. thanks Doug |
You will have to jimmy it open somehow. The lock comes apart from the inside on this one.
I have seen this before. I used a 90 pick to get it open and then disassembled it from there. |
thanks for the help and have a happy new year!
