Hi!
I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. I currently own a 1989 300SE. I love my car, but for months I have wanted an SEC. With fuel prices and insurance (I'm only 19), I have been looking at 1985 380SECs. Would these be faster or slower than my 300? Also, is there anything I should look out for in terms of relability? The cars are both UK cars. Thanks

The 300SE has more horsepower but it's a six. The 380 has more torque because it's a V-8. I would say the 300SE might accelerate better because of the gearing, but the 380's run a little smoother because of the V-8. It's a trade-off. The 300SE probably gets better mileage, but two doors and eight cylinders usually means more insurance.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling the 300 would have more power.
I think I'm going to have a look at a 420, because I want a bit more power. Although I am more than happy with the power I get from the 300, there is always room for more! Thanks for your help
