Anyone with Euro/non-North American 124?
If so, can you tell me if there is a place to attach an upper strap for a child seat, and if so, exactly where is it? The US owner's manual for my 300E says the car has one but I don't see it, and I suspect that US 124s lack this feature. I have seen this issue discussed on the board before, but have never seen a definitive answer.

I couldn't find it on my old (US) 300E, unless it was hiding in the first-aid kit.

I have two euro 123's and I've never seen anything like that on either.
Are you looking in the back seat? In Germany it is against the law to haul a child younger than 11 years old in the front seat, so if there is anything there it will probably only be in the back seat. Good luck, |

Aussie delivered MBs have had child restraint anchorage points since the mid '70s. There is usually one for each rear seat position. In the sedans they are located on the rear parcel shelf with the centre one sometimes under the cover for the first-aid kit (with a hole through the cover). They usually have plastic plugs fitted which need to be removed before screwing in a child restraint anchor (a 5/16" thread from memory). In our 124 wagon there are three anchorages on the load floor area behind the rear seats (floor between 2nd and 3rd row seats) and in our previous 123 wagon there were three on a bar that mounted across the back of the seats.

yes I'm talking about the back seat of course. the owner's manual says there is an upper tether point but there isn't unless it is invisible.
