Where's my power steering fluid??

Hello,
You know, I'm a pretty smart guy (usually), but I cannot for the life of me locate the power steering fluid reservoir in my 1987 560SEL. It's not even in the manual! Please let me know...oh, while I'm here, what is that thing to the right (when facing the car from the front) of the distributor cap?? It has a little black cap with an arrow pointing in two directions...just curious. Thanks as usual!
