Top speed 75MPH. 300e

Hi all. I was driving home from LA this afternoon, and the fastest I could get out of my car was 75MPH @ 3300 RPM’s.
The engine felt like it had a governor on it. Most likely it’s the fuel filter. Any other ideas.

Thanks,
Greg.

You were able to get up to 75 mph on the I5? Wow.

But yeah, probably the fuel filter. Cheapest solution first.

You may want to change all the fuel filters, including the sock filter in the tank.

My mechanic once told me that when a car's top speed is 75 that means that one of the two fuel pumps is out. I just looked in http://www.*************** and it shows that some models of the 300E had two pumps. Its a bargain there for $110 each.

Coolant temp was around 80-85C. Didn’t think about the Cat. I guess I need to do a search, on how to check for a bad Cat.
