E420 97 sunroof(moonroof) problam

Hello The sun roof on my 97 E420 got stock on the half popped up position(the driver's side was a little lower) I didnt have a prolam closing it but when i tried to slide it back(opening it) it just got stock and made a very loud cranking/popping kind of noise.,and didnt move .It looks like the driver's side front corner is stuck somehow.
Would anyone have any ideas if it is something i should attempt to fix or i should look for more profeshional help.I took the sunroof apart on my old 500SEC awhile back and it worked like a charm but with this roof everything is hidded (moonroof)
Thanx for any respons

MOST sunroof problems on that W210 chassis are related to the plastic cable guides. THEY weren't designed to take the load that the cables apply & the cables jump out. MB now supplies a reinforced guide with 2 retaining screws instead of the 1 that they came with. Takes about 1.5-2 hrs to replace them.

Unless the 1.5-2 hrs includes replacing the sunroof cable I replaced my guides in 15 minutes with a cordless drill.
