Replaced door check, now window is stuck

Thanks to the great help on this site, I removed the rear door panel on the 300E without breaking anything and succesfully installed the new door check. But,the window won't come up. Any bright ideas before I go and remove the door panel again?
The fuse is good and the switch is plugged in correctly. The drivers control panel doesn't do any good in opening the window.

A side note. The door check isn't supposed to be installed with that plastic cover in place, is it? If you have bought one recently, you would know what I'm talking about. I left it out.

Thanks for the help.

The "revised" door checks have a black plastic cover that sheilds the bearings from dust/debris that can make it's way down into the door. They're supposed to be on.

As for the issue with the window, sounds like you'll have to pull the door panel off again and try testing the switch. Then check the motor to see if it's getting power.

On W124's you can usually raise a rear window that's stuck down by holding the switch in the "up" position while having someone open and close the door firmly.

sometimes the wire for the window that runs through the rubber boot between the door and the pillar breaks from the door being opened and closed over time. I think that's what speedy300d is talking about, because if the wire is only partially broken, opening and closing the door gets it to work sometimes.

Squeeze and turn the boot to get it off and then check the wire. There's also a vacuum line for the door locks in there. I had to take off the inside of the pillar and run a new wire from in there, kind of a PITA.
