98 C230 CD changer not working
Thanks for reading this thread...
I just brought a used Alpine CHM-S630 from ebay, it come with a converter (MB/ALP DMX V.1 from Blitzsafe) so it wil connect to the 10 pins connector in the back of the trunk. There is not much installation; just shut off controlling unit (original MB), connect converter to 10 pins connector, connect converter to cd changer, simple enough... PROBLEM: As I turn on the unit about first minute into playing music on CD1 it stopped playing and on the controlling unit screen it scan from CD1 to CD6 and back to CD1 track 99, then stay there forever... Anyone knows what's wrong? I emailed the seller and he insisted that I did something wrong, its like how can I do anything wrong with just one cable to connect? I'm sending it back for a full refund because in ebay it claims "In stock are brand new Alpine/ MB unit but when I receive is a refur, and on corner is broken off. Also, anyone recommend using a converter instead buying a good used unit that connect directly to the 10 pins connectors? Thanks Last edited by chris5949; 05-16-2005 at 10:43 AM. Were the plastic shipping locks in place?
Assuming it was 100% prior to shipping - without the locks, some of the innerds get bounced around in transit and could have been knocked out of alignment. |
