My oil pressure gauge is always above 3 on my 88 560SEL. Soon as I turn the ignition on it goes to 3, when the engine starts it stays, and even after driving it stays. I am assuming the sender is bad or the guy that sold me the car rigged it to hide low oil pressure. What I need to know is where is the sender on the engine?

Thanks
David

SENDING UNIT

Sounds like the sending unit is bad! On the right side of engine, in the oil filter housing. Easy replacement!
Part number should be 006-542-94-17 & list price is $62.
