Condolences and prayers from our family. If there is a memorial fund, would a donation be appropriate?

I am sorry for your loss. Even though most of us have never met you or any of the members on this BB, we are in a way family. My deepest condolences to you and his family. If donations are to be made to a special foundation, please let us know.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you all again for your kind words. It was really hard losing Eduardo. When I first began working at the dealership after leaving the independent, he was one of the first of the guys in the shop who I became very friendly with. His favorite MB of all time was the W116, one of which I drive every day. He used to sit and talk with me and remember the days when he owned a W116 and spoke of how great a car it was. He even gave me a piece of chrome badging from his own car which he had since gotten rid of. I promised him that if I ever sold my W116, he would be the first to know. But now after this tragedy, I can't ever get rid of this car, rather I will install that little piece of chrome which once was part of his own car and remember him each time I sit behind the wheel. I'm sure he'll watch over "us"! Well, again I sincerely thank each and every one of you for your condolances. God bless all.

.. I too would like to offer my condolences. It is very hard when one we know and love passes on. Even though I(we)didn't get a chance to meet or know him, for you to ask for a moment of silence speaks volumes on the type of person he was..He will be missed..

Aaron, thanx for sharing this with us. We all should be honored that you thought enough of us to share this tragic event with us. About 10 years ago, a machinist friend had their old time shop expert die shortly after retirement. The widow had the fellow shop guys clean out his home shop. They divvey'd up some of the tools so that every one who had worked with Joe Trono got a memento. I was not a shop member, but a frequent BS'er who joined them for lunch and hockey games. I was given a small machinist square, which I still treasure and keep well oiled in my tool box. While Joe lived to a ripe old age, but not much in retirement, your friends plight brings back memories of Joe. Perhaps his family will let each of you have a small item from his tool box, so you can remember him every time you use that tool? I can't think of a more fitting memorial for a fellow mechanic.

If God has an Automobile, we know it is a Mercedes Benz, probably a fleet. Who better to maintain God's Fleet other tha Eduardo Rodriguez. Eduardo when I meet you in that Glory Land, would you take care of my Benz. That is if you have time away from your Full Time Heavenly Job.

My most heartfelt condolences.

I was a little jarred at Larry's comments on the previous page - our new electronic communities know no physical boundaries, and I can't help but feel oddly vulnerable... I came here to learn about my car, but I've found a genuine sense of community. This feeling of actually "knowing" the people that I've "met" here carries it's emotional implications. I hope to meet some of you MShop members for real someday.

My heart goes out to Eduardo's family and friends - may he rest in peace.

You have made Cyberspace a real place with this touching tribute to your friend. My W116 and I took a long drive today in Eduardo's honor, and yours. It was the most amazing drive, and the sunset was magnificent. We are sorry to hear of your loss.

That slowed my pace here. I'm sorry to hear of this. Many of us take this time for granted, this sure throws things into perspective.

I was at the Doc last week for an EKG for irregular heart beats. They said that it was stress...I have been working on that for the last week and I am feeling a little better.

This really puts it into perspective.

Work REAL HARD on that stress issue, and not so hard on the work issues. Been there and done that, and the only thing to show for the 80 hour work weeks, (aside from a lot of career satisfaction at the time), was a stay in ICU and medical retirement at 52. Don't go there. We need you out there with the rest of the MercedesShop crew keeping the MBs rolling and the website up and purring! I offer the same advise to ALL the other valued members of this forum as well. Enjoy where your at, what your doing, and the family and friends around you, because nothing is guaranteed.

My condolences to Eduardo's family and hope that he rests in peace. I guess that he'll be busy keeping God's fleet of Benzes running. what Larry said was very interesting and indeed he had a point. If one of us suddenly passed away none of us would know what happened. We should try to meet up (at a local level). Their is a sense of family on this forum. Its very odd but, its never occurred to me, that such a organization can be so close in a way.


Eduardo, will be in my prayers tonight

I sincerely thank each and every one of you for all your kind words. Eduardo did not have any next of kin, only a mother and sister who live in Argentina. I am not sure whether or not they will take his body back to his homeland, but hopefully they will so he can be at rest. It's sad to walk by his old work bay and see his tool chest all locked up, and to know that this was where he spent his final moments on Earth. When this tragedy happened, we tried to resussitate him with no luck. He was gone instantly. Well, I guess God decided it was his time. I suppose if there's a place and time for a Mercedes enthusiast/mechanic like Eduardo to go, it was while working on somebody's beloved machine. His memory shall always be for a blessing.

Aaron, A feeling of sadness in your time of loss. Others more eloquent than I have pointed out the sense of community here. I thank all for giving this site it's warmth and sharing.
