help w/108 '69 starting problem fuel injector
 

Hello- I have a '69 Mercedes Gas 108 Chassis car,I bought for pretty cheap but it's a beauty! Drove car home,it would not start ever again.Called mech who worked on it.He said it needed a fuel injector pump.There was a lot of gas in the engine,and he seemed very knowledge about the car.Put on the pump(rebuilt).But my TDC did not line up w/ the factory pulley.So I was on the compression stroke,lined up the rotor to #1 cylinder on the Dist Cap.Lined up dist cap mark.There was a small mark there on the pulley.It had to be Tdc (!!!!???).Anyways I advanced the
timing 20o and stuck the pump in.No Change- Gets gas,almost started once!
Is the starter switch bad? or it's relay. I do get spark.Points gap good.Plug wires correct. Clean perfect gas.Some please help.I'd like to get this car running. I think I could take it back to this mechanic but he'd charge a lot. I don't think it's too serious. Thanks- John
