wagon shocks

I had my 95 e320 wagon inspected, and my shocks are even more worn than i thought. I want to replace them with something that will reduce the floatiness of the car and tighten the handeling slightly. Will blistien HDs work? What size do i need? Also how can i tell if my car has load leveling?
Thanks

There are not any direct replacement shocks for the rear of wagons other than the ones as part of the self-leveling system which is standard on wagons.

If you want to by-pass this system then the sedan shocks should work but the self-leveling is a great feature.

Instead, have you replaced the fluid? I did this when I first purchase the wagon and it made a good difference in the ride quality.

I have also noticed that front and rear sway bar bushings and links contribute to good handling with the wagon since it is taller (It is .... park beside a sedan if you don't believe me). Both the fronts and rears are easy to do.

Additionally a properly setup wagon will have a slight nose down attitude when unloaded with a full tank of fuel. If your's is settled in the rear it will throw off a good handling feeling, especially over bumps.
