m103 chain tensioner tool
I am in the middle of removing my head to replace the gasket, and thought I would have something to remove the tensioner, but I don't.
Can anyone tell me what I can use to withdraw the tensioner. Thanks. |
tool
a 27mm wrench works for me, you may have to move the air pump out of the way to get to it, if you are passed this point and need to remove the inner retainer, i made a tool from an old mercedes lug bolt, or a 17mm allen will work, if you are beyond that point and need to get the tensioner it's self out, push the tensioner in with your finger and use the rail to push it back out. let me know what you find i am here all morning, send email if you want

I'm not aware of any special tools at all that are needed for this operation, just wrenches and sockets.
If you can be more specific about which part of the operation you are puzzling with, we can be of more assistance. Good luck, |
Thanks Carson! I am at the point of the 17mm allen. Off to the store now. I very well may need some more tips, but I'll see how it goes.
Thanks again |
Larry, I did'nt realize that it was just took a large allen to remove the tensioner. With all the gunk built up I did'nt reckognize the shape.
