Tips on replacing fuel sender for 01 e430

The fuel gauge shows now 3/4 full when I fill up the tank.(it started to drop slightly more each time I filled up the tank)
I did located the sender unit -in the trunk- and I will like to find out what I do need to replace it ( tools, tips etc.).I assume that the unit is going bad.

Any advice will be apreciated
