Diagnosis, please
On my '86 300E, the ABS activates during the last 3-4 mph as I come to a non-emergency stop. It pulsates and makes the sound associated with the ABS as if it were an all-out emergency application of brakes. The pedal pressure is light and the road surface is not wet, sandy or gravelly. This occurs intermittently, seemingly without relationship to anything else.
Also, the Antilock brake light on dash cluster comes on then goes off if the ignition is turned off, then back on. Anyone care to diagnose/speculate/guess? |
MBUSA issued a bulletin on that problem back in 1990 & the front ABS brake sensors are the problem.

Thanks. Was it a recall or just a "heads-up"?
