Vac servo?
Just trying to be helpful. Had the same problem w/ my center 2 vents but did not take them off. Replaced (the mechanic did) vac servo behind the glovebox and the wheel would open and close those vents.

I played around with the wheel by loosening the hex head screw and it works better now, but I still feel like there is some slack within the mechanism. At least it works now, but I would still prefer to make it work the way it was intended to.
