Hello,

I bought a set of "visions super white" H4 bulbs for my car. I would like to install them. I was reading the manual, but it did not elaborate on how to remove the two arm fixtures that I must remove to get to the headlight assembly. The arms can be easily moved aside, I figured that part out. However, the plastic casing to which the arms connect to, I am unsure how to take them off, and haven't tried yet. Is there some sorta release, or I just use force and take them off? I'm a little timid to go ahead and experiment. Thank you if you can help.

1995, can be a W124 or W210 E-class...
Nevertheless, changing the bulbs and getting to them is the same. Move the steel fixtures aside and pull/push the top of the plastic casing towards the engine (& stuff). When the top of the casing is freed from the light unit you can pull them upwarts (the bottom of the casings is stuck in the light units).
If the car is a W210 E-class you will get some trouble with the minimum space behind the right headlight unit. Beware not to brake any of the inner parts of the light unit.

good luck

The plastic panel held in place by metal brackets is covered in the manual. What I am worried about is the plastic panel that covers THIS panel, which serves as where the two plastic arms from the engine connect to...how do I remove them? Thank you.

no actually, the user's manual doesn't have this information. Anyways, I went to the dealership, and the service advisor installed them for me, and showed me how to take off the plastic connectors to the air intake arms that cover the head light assemble. thanx for the concern.

Sorry...

I have no idea what you mean...must be something on US-models...

Is the car a W124 or W210 model?

MBenz,

Thanx for helping, at least you took a shot, which I really appreciated. It is a 1995 E420, a W124. I think the setup that I am talkin' about is common to V8 W124's, like 500E/E500 and 400E/E420. These two arms, I *think* they are air intake arms, connect to these two plastic panels that cover the headlight assembly. The service advisor popped them upwards, and had to disconnect some connector behind the driver's side headlight. Anyhow, I have my new lights in now. Again, thanx a lot for the reply, I appreciate it!
