1993 300e 3.2?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I am looking at a 93 300E which is for sale. I realize that they should be called E320s correct? Therefore the engine choices were the 2.8L or the 3.2L I have heard of the Throttle Positioning sensors problem as well as the head gasket problems and the a/c issues like the evaporator. Is there anything else unusual about these cars? THe 1993 W124s. They seem to be the hybrids between the 1986-93 vs 94-95 W124s. What about the suspension? I heard that the 94-95 W124s, gas models do not have removable ball joints and the whole control arm has to come out. What about the 93 300E, does it have removable ball joints? I searched the archives but I would like some input here as well if it isnt too much of a problem Here is the car that I am looking at : Year: 1993 Make: MERCEDES-BENZ Model: 300E Model Detail: Price: $7,900 Mileage: 167,000 km Date: 5/27/2005 Ad Type: Private Comment: Auto, 4 dr, 6 cyl, black, gray leather int, sunroof, fully loaded, original owner, $7,900, 167,000 km. |

In the rest of the world they were badged as 320E, so there was no confusion. Everything that applies to '94-'95 E320's applies to this car. |
Of course! You need to see if the engine wiring harness has been replaced(at least $1000) & the same for the throttle actuator($2000).
Yes, most 1992 & later W124 chassis require lower control arms if the ball joint goes bad! |
It says on fastlane that this car has ball joints.
IT better has ball joints, Speaking of wiring harness issues. There arent too many failures in Canada, same applies for headgaskets. Or is it that I am just hearing wrong? |
