fule leak under tank
 

Hello everone I have a 1992 500SEL while parked under my car port I notice what seem to be gas lightly sprayed on the floor, or lightly leaking. Last time the size of the leak was about 12 X 20 ". it seem to happen only when it
get warm outside, also when driving on a hot day and you park the car and stop
the motor it is hard to restard. Could the gas cap have something to do with this? Thanks for your help

Have you checked to see if the fuel hose that goes from the tank to the fuel pumps is deteriorating? If you can squeeze it and fuel seeps out, that's your leak.

Thanks Ron I have a bad back and I am unable to get under the car as of yet. Is the fule pump on the driver side or passenger side? all of the leak is on the pass side.

There are two fuel pumps and I pretty sure they are on the passenger side, they probably have a plastic panel covering them so you'll not be alble to see them without taking the panel off.
