Angry W202 C220 Lower Balljoint removal

I'd like to get help in extracting the lower balljoint pin that came off the balljoint and was stuck to the steering knuckle.
What's the best way to remove this pin. I tried clamping it with a vise grip and tapping it out but to no avail. The pin seems welded to the knuckle.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

how did you deal with the pin getting stuck in the steering knuckle?
this just happened to me a few days ago.

I reshaped the knuckle where the pin was stuck in order to put everything back together and use the car to get to work, but I think it would easily come out with a drill press or maybe even a hand drill.

Know I'm thinking of buying a new knuckle and redoing the work.

would like to hear how you delt with your pin.

w202 lower ball joint removal

Ethan,
I used a propane torch to heat up the stuck pin and extracted it using a visegrip.
Caution: Be extra careful with the torch as it can do major damage to any plastic or rubber parts, paint, electrical wires, etc. around the wheel well area. Also make sure to have adequate eye and body protection before working with a propane torch.
Lastly make sure there are no combustible liquids in and around your work area.

Once you get the pin out, let the steering knuckle cool off then clean it throughly with degreaser/cleaner. Apply a small amount of anti-sieze compound inside the hole prior to installing the new balljoint.
Good luck.
Rick
