Hella Euro Lens Separation

I recently noticed condensation inside my Euro (124) headlights after a carwash or rain. Upon further inspection I discovered that the glass lens had literally separated from the unit. (pic below)

I scraped out the old caulk/sealant and re-caulked them. Time spent .. 2-3 hrs.

I've had these Hellas for 3 years or so and having paid $400+ for the pair I'm obviously disappointed in the low quality.

The TX heat may be a factor but if you have a pair of these Hellas, give a look before your lenses fall off!

Good Luck :D

think its the heat

I think you are right about the tx heat. I have the same and they've lastest 10 years except for the one that got a stone through it. Might be an idea to smear grease on the rubber seals before closing them up ?

You would think those Germans would make them with the highest standard, but I guess you get the same quality as the guy making them in Taiwan. I have Depo's myself.

I just recently bought Hellas - but they have an inner black seal and are held in place by 6 metal clips - current pricing for the 126 was $212 shipping in.

Are you sure you have real Hella lights? Do they say that they are made in Germany?

That's mighty cheap for a set of real Euros.
