New ignition wire set
This is the week that everything breaks...
Last year my car (1987 560 SEL) developed a "hiccup" when idling. I took the car in for some other work and the shop told me that the hiccup was caused by a bad ignition wire, which was replaced. Now, a year later I have a new hiccup, so I figure I might as well just replace all of them. I could find the bad one and replace it, but if this is going to continue (6 more times, I suppose) it would be simpler to just start with a fresh set. My question is: I see that on FastLane there are 3 brands available for my car, Bosch, PVL and Beru. Which would be best, or are the three pretty similar? If so I'll get the Bosh, since it is about $30.00 less than the other two. Are the PVL or Beru wires any better? |
wires
please only use Bosch, they are the oem, used during this models production years.
i have seen issues with other brands. i have installed beru brand that were defective from the box |
Yeah, I just thought it was odd the the Bosch set would be the least expensive.

If your ignition wires have the red molded sparkplug connectors I recommend using Beru, the OEM.

The Bosch units are made in Spain at this point, as such I'm not much of a fan. Beru are the best wires on the market IMHO. I have installed them on a multitude of customer cars as well as my own w/ excellent results.
Bosch is not what it used to be IMHO. Jonathan |
