draining the torquer
 

:bulb: as i was reading a great diy article on tranny fluid changes by kim langley it occured to me that an easier way to drain the converter ; instead of rotating the crank: would be to turn the rear wheels instead.does this make sense to anyone or is it one of those things that are so obvious that it must be wrong?
of course this assumes having the rear wheels up in the air!!!!!!! :rolleyes:

Unless you have a strange ( and all european models are strange to me) TQ, the inner turbine will turn, but not the housing where the plug is located. If turning the wheels spun the housing, it would also be turning the flywheel, and thus the crankshaft... Which would mean the axles would be turning anytime the engine was running...

go to kim's diy post and you'll notice that he says the wheels turn easier 'cause they're in the air as he turns the shaft underhood.i was just thinking,linearly, that if it worked from one end then why not from the other?

Won't work. Torque converter housing is bolted to the engine.
