The wiper on my 85 190E (late year model) has decided to park about a foot up from the standard position. This happened after I parked the car and turned off the key (leaving the wiper on) and the wiper stopped in this spot. I tried pushing it down and it just cycles (down and then across and back returning to the new park position. The car was parked during a snow storm and ice built up on the windshield as the bast..rd lawyer tried to sue me for $3 million (he lost). Any ideas. I wanted to put the lawyer on the windshield, but then I couldn't see.

The wiper assembly will have to come out. Then it can be repositioned if not bent.

fred,
I never heard of a wiper changing it's own basepoint without having a problem with the wiper mechanism. I think it is something mechanical instead of electrical and that the cause of this problem can be find under the heater's air-intake cover. Remove this cover (just below the windshield)to have a look whether the mechanism is bend or not. You will have to take out the wiper mechanism to reposition it (bend or not). greetingz, |
Make the *^(&%$ lawyer fix it.
