What site do I need to submit my VIN# to get my original window sticker?
|
If you're referring to the Mercedes sticker with the signature, they're available from any dealer. No vin necessary.

Window Sticker?
I think you might be asking about the original "price sticker" that was on the car when it was sold new. If so you can request a copy from MBUSA. I sent them a letter with the VIN number of my 300E and several weeks later they sent me a "copy" of the original sticker. It looks like a photo copy (zerox) of the original from an off-site record company. The copy was not great but it does contain some interesting information. You can see the original sticker price of the vehicle as well as a list of the factory options. You can go to the MBUSA site and either send them an e-mail or get the address and send them a letter. BTY they took several weeks but did send me the copy at no charge.

Thanks
i will send them an e-mail. i am really interested in seeing where the car was originally delivered(dealer).

How far back will the records go to will they have one for my 85?
thanks |
I just e-mailed MBUSA about getting one for my car. Of course I might be pushing it with a 1980 car. It would be a nice little piece of historical document of sorts. I bought off of e-bay a MB full line brochure for 1980. So a reprint of the window sticker would be nice. It was this thread that prompted me to e-mail MB. Thanks for the idea. Now I have to cross my fingures.

Hey Dan!
That is a cool site! I had the music playing too! I take it you left Nebraska judging by the plant life. I can't figure out how a little 5 year old kid could own so many cars.;) It was nice to see a 623 color code 300SD. |
I just placed my request for both cars via a phone call at 11pm est: 800.367.6372. I spoke to a real woman - who spoke back to me. She needed VIN; then she wanted to know mileage on each. After confirming that she found some info on each, she said she'd request a search for any original sticker copies and forward me whatever that search yields. Cool.
|
I guess MBUSA's web site is correct. That customer assistance is available 24/7. I'm wondering why they needed the current mileage of your cars to research an original window sticker. Vin number, that's obvious, but current mileage?
|
It may be like tagging a beast in the wild. They get a little extra marketing data/trivia. They know mileage, point of origin/sale, and current address... all associated with a particular model, year, color, options... Then, if they're lucky, the next owner calls in with the same request. So they get another data point related to that car.
I'm sure the marketing guys could slice and dice that into a plan. |
Where can I get literature
besides lit.com? i have a 89 560SEC and would like an original sales brochure. I have one for 84 that my father got new, mint but obviously does me no good. Also have a 71 and 72 brochure from same source.

That sort of stuff comes up on ebaymotors sometimes under manuals. Auction 538084435 (expiring Saturday evening) is some marketing folder glorifying the 560C's 86-91. It looks like it has specifications, etc.

Bigshot, give TMC publications a try.
They have good cust. service and dig up stuff like that. I think it is http://www.tmcpub.com or variant. Good Luck! |
