Broken odometer
 
I own a 1973 280 with 83,000 miles. Last week odometer broke but speedometer still works. Any suggestions

Buy a used cluster. That's probably the least expensive way of fixing your problem. Check ebay for exapmle.

You can have yours repaired if you want. There are many companies that offer this service. Here are some places to check out:

The other thing is that you may need new gears. In that case, you can contact a company like this one:

Broken odometer
 
There are a variety of posts on fixing broken odometers, or you can contact Steve Brotherton who is a member on this forum (with a shop in FL) - his brother, Scott, repairs/refurbs odometers & instrument clusters - did mine about 6 months ago and everything working fine now.

The pot metal gear is spinning on the shaft. I used a drop of green locktite to fix mine, others have taken theirs apart and re affixed the gear to the shaft.
