Okay, maybe a real dumb question here, but-

So once I empty the radiator, it looks like the only place to add fluid for the flush and refill is through the reservoir?! I'm more used to seeing a radiator cap on top of the radiator, but it looks like through the reservoir is the only way to add fluid, yes?

Hard to believe, but through that little hose between the reservoir and radiator you're supposed to get 12.5 litres?

Would someone confirm this is the way to fill the radiator? Sorry for what might seem like a dumb question. Thanks

Flushing

Did you flush the engine?
There is a small nipple on the passenger side of the engine block. Attach a hose to it and loosen the nipple.
Once you flush everything you need to look for a breather hole on the engine head. Depends on the engine. If you have a 300E it's a small bolt 12mm, next to the valve cover.
Take it off. Make sure to tighten engine block nipple and radiator drain.
Now you are ready to pour in the coolant thru the reservoir.
Pour in until the coolant starts coming out of the breather hole on the head. Put back bolt on breather hole and start engine. Observe reservoir and add coolant if the level drops slightly.
That's it, you've done a successful coolant flush.

93 300e

I have a 93 300E with a 104 engine, strange things have occured since I drained the radiator. The car seems to run a little hotter, I think I need to bleed the system. What are the proper procedures in bleeding the system?

Please advise.

Thanks.
Eddie
