W126 Climate Control Unit
 

Recently I noticed my climate control unit on my 83 126 working funny. I'll set it on AUTO and the fans will start and then everything would shutoff. It does this only sometimes. Then I hit the top button which is for high speed fan operation...nothing happens...i then tapped on the buttons and the fans started again....im guessing its some sort of contact or is the whole unit going?

The solder point on the contacts crack. You can re-solder and probably get some renewed life out of the CCU. Don't use a real "hot" gun. Here is the link you should review CCU

If you don't want to solder.....you can get a rebuilt unit .... It is an easy installation.....
