Calling all W140 Owners with Rims

To all of you who have plus sized your W140 S-class, what issues did you have to deal with? I was looking to put some:

Size: 9J X 18 H2 Offset: ET35

* Rear Tires: Michelin Pilot XGTZ4 275/35/ZR18; Front Tires: Dunlop Pilot SP Sport 9000 245/40/ZR18

Chrome AMG's that came off an 03 s55.....Any advice, yes buy, or leave them alone.

AMG headquarters told me my 94s offset is 51 mm all around. I'm no expert in the tire business, would these wheels just not work? What about wheels off an 01 s500 sport with offsets 48 mm rear/44mm front, they are 18x8.5 in the front, and 18x9.5 ,255/40/18 in the front and 295/35/18 rear. I know I've seen W140s with rims, so let me know.

You should post this question in the "Wheels & Tires" forum.

Also try using the search feature on that forum.

Practically every conceivable wheel/tire combo for the different MB models have been tried, along with different suspension hieghts, rolled fenders, and ride compliance tunings.

Eventually you'll find the answer that best fits your needs...I say that because despite discovering several ramblings about what WON'T fit, many of us will go ahead and get what we desired anyway!

That said, a 35mm offset puts your inner rim 16mm closer to your shock/struts, which will probably not work. You have maybe 5 or so mm to play with max, and beyond that, tire rubbing and interference will come into play.
