Heat in driver's footwell area
Hi all. I know this is not normal but would like to check here first. My A/C is currently inop due to low freon charge so no cooling in the cabin. What worse, the driver's foot area becomes very warm during driving. The climate control system is off and no heat should be going into the cabin but there is. It seems that the entire transmission tunnel is warm to the touch. Is this normal? Anyone have any experiences in this area and found a fix? Thanks!

Try putting your car year make and model into your sig...so we have some clue what vehicle this is.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that he has a 1990 129 SL.... am I getting warm yet?

Check the exhaust. There should probably be a heat shield there. My friend's '72 280SEL 4.5 did the same thing when he had an exhaust leak in that area.
Thanks David |

Anyway, yes it is a 1990 300SL. I'll check the exhaust system this weekend and see if that's the problem. |
